Beautifully delineated Cabernet aromas on the nose with cassis, blueberry and fine spiced notes of star anise, espresso and cocoa. There is some wild herb and juniper spice too with a fine gravelly core - a fine balance between the richness of fruit on the mid-palate and drive and direction on the finish.

Fleshy and round on the palate the tannins are deftly integrated with the fruit and the finish is long and lingering with notes of cocoa and dark berry fruits.

The 2023 vintage was a long, cool growing season which was perfect for maintaining energy and vibrancy in this Chardonnay. With notes of toasted almond, wet stones and honeysuckle there is so much complexity here. Orchard fruit with a fine bead of acidity drive to a long finish of white peach and a little white grapefruit pith.

The Mosconi is quite simply exceptional this year. From this site of some of the oldest soils in the region this is brooding and structured wine yet with a totally seamless core of red berry fruit. Beautifully defined and controlled with a fragrance that opens with a little air, there are accents of lavender, peppery spice, and a little wild herb. The finish is so long and pure – a must have this year.

The Via Nuova is sourced from a few different excellent vineyard sites and has resulted in a wine of real purity and focus. This has a classical profile, so sleek and elegant with notes of tea leaves, cherry fruit and ripe peach. Expressive and vibrant there is so much to love about this wine which straightens up on the finish with a lift of mint, iris and aniseed.

The 2013 Viña Tondonia Rioja Reserva is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha and 5% of Graciano and Mazuelo and aged in old American oak for six years before bottling. From a cooler vintage this has a beautifully classical, athletic profile. The nose delivers aromas of truffle, porcini, some dried dill and a sanguine note. This is a vibrant and fine boned wine with red berry fruits, brick dust and some subtle spiced notes on the long finish.
